An online debate revealed how Australians really feel about men wearing dresses.
The question 'If you saw a bloke in a dress, what's your first thought?' was asked in a Reddit post that went viral this week.
'I'm interested to see how Australians feel about men wearing dresses,' the poster asked. 'Not in a "taking the piss" way, just in a normal, everyday wear kinda way.'
Mostly the responses were either positive or neutral and very few were negative.

'I'm 100 per cent certain that if all men started wearing dresses, all dresses would suddenly start having pockets.'
One of the most popular responses was: '"Oh, a man in a dress. Don't see that every day" and then I'd go about my business.'
It was echoed by several people including one who said: 'Move on with the day. It's 2022. So whatever goes.'
'My thoughts would be that it's a bloke who wants to be in a dress and it's none of my or anyone's effing business!'
'Bucks night possibly, that'd be my first thought,' another said.
One man posted an anecdote about driving down the main street of Mayfield in Newcastle with his dad who was 'not the most open-minded of blokes' when they saw two trans people wearing dresses.
