Billionaire Elon Musk was pictured arriving at Heidi Klum's Halloween party in a red Samurai-style costume as reports emerge that he is preparing to cut close to 2,000 Twitter jobs, amounting to around 25 percent of its workforce.
The world's wealthiest looked triumphant posing on the red-carpet in his armor, with his street clothes still visible underneath.
Musk said on Monday in a filing that he will be the chief executive officer of Twitter, the social media company he recently acquired for $44 billion.
Later that night, Musk was seen leaving Twitter's headquarters with a large entourage, that included security, his mother and one of his ten children.
Prior to Musk emerging from the building, his young child was placed in an SUV by a woman to wait for the new CEO. At one point, a Twitter employee emerged from the building wearing a full face mask representing the company's iconic bird logo.
The billionaire's mother, Maye, was also present inside Twitter's offices on West 17th street in New York City.
Maye Musk later made an appearance to Heidi Klum's 21st annual party alongside her son. The Sport's Illustrated model also accompanied her son to this year's Met Gala in May.
That same month Maye filmed an episode of the German edition of Next Top Model alongside Klum.
The supermodel's party was held at Sake No Hana at Moxy Lower East Side and was sponsored by Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur.

It comes after Musk, who also runs Tesla and SpaceX, fired Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal and other top company officials last week, making himself the board's sole member, according to a company filing Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
'The following persons, who were directors of Twitter prior to the effective time of the merger, are no longer directors of Twitter: Bret Taylor, Parag Agrawal, Omid Kordestani, David Rosenblatt, Martha Lane Fox, Patrick Pichette, Egon Durban, Fei-Fei Li and Mimi Alemayehou,' Musk said in the filing.
Shortly afterward, Musk tweeted that the move to dissolve the board 'is just temporary,' without elaborating.
Over the weekend, Musk consulted with Twitter's remaining senior executives to discuss the future of the site together with plans to lay off 25 percent of the workforce to start, reports The Washington Post.
In addition, Twitter engineers have raised concerns about the lack of access they had to tools designed to help limit the amount of fake information being shared in relation to Sunday's Brazilian presidential election, reports Bloomberg. According to the publication, Twitter’s 'Trust and Safety organization' is currently largely unable to police accounts that post misleading information and hate speech.
This comes amid worries about the spread of misinformation in relation to next week's midterm elections in the US.
On the same day that Musk showed up at Twitter's New York headquarters, Axios reported that the site's founder, Jack Dorsey, had retained a 2.4 percent stake in the company. That share is worth around $1 billion.

Celebrity lawyer, Alex Spiro, who has represented Musk for several years, is believed to have led the conversations with various teams at the company including legal, government relations, policy and marketing.
A couple of other longtime Musk associates David Sacks and Jason Calacanis also appeared in a company directory obtained by the Post with company emails and titles of 'staff software engineer.'
The team are now deciding which departments will be targeted in the first round of layoffs which will see roughly a quarter of Twitter's 7,000 staff fired.
Virtually no department will be left untouched with sales, product, engineering, legal, and trust and safety all being looked at. Some of the highest-paid workers are in the sales department with some pulling in $300,000 a year.
The leadership team is said to be asking questions about all aspects of the business, including everything from content moderation, spam and the risks of the upcoming elections.
