Indigenous footballer turned TV star Tony Armstrong has shared some of the vicious hate he's received since speaking out against Gina Rinehart.

Armstrong weighed in on the infamous netball sponsorship saga on The Project last Thursday and accused Rinehart of using charity to cover the fact she hadn't publicly condemned her father's racist comments.

Rinehart's father Lang Hancock suggested Aboriginal people should be 'sterilised' 38 years ago, causing the Diamonds players to question whether they wanted her mining company's Hancock Prospecting logo on their uniforms as part of a $15million sponsorship deal.

On Tuesday night, Armstrong shared a photo of one of the hateful and racist messages he received in the week after speaking out against Rinehart.

The horrible message was ridden with slurs including 'ab**' and 'bo***' and the author of the email called Armstrong 'scum' and a 'dog'.

Armstrong captioned the photo: 'This sh** has gotta stop'.

'One thing is for certain though, this isn't guna (sic) stop us speaking up or stepping up.'

Armstrong revealed the abuse had been sent to his work email at the ABC, where he works as the sports presenter for ABC News Breakfast.

'Sent to my work email, no less,' he wrote.

Rinehart pulled her $15million sponsorship for Netball Australia on October 22 after Indigenous Diamonds player Donnell Wallam said she was uncomfortable wearing the logo of Rinehart's mining company, Hancock Prospecting.

Wallam's concerns stemmed from racist comments made by Rinehart's dad, the founder of the company, about 'breeding out' Indigenous people.

In his appeal on The Project last week, Armstrong said a flurry of media showed widespread support for Rinehart in the saga and pointed to her generous donations to Indigenous charities.
