A racist email sent to TV star Tony Armstrong is being investigated by the police after the ABC presenter posted the horrific abuse on social media.
Armstrong, who presents sports for the ABC, took to Twitter late on Tuesday to post the email that was sent to his work account where he was referred to as an 'a**o dog' among other racist slurs.
It came a few days after Armstrong called on Gina Rinehart to condemn racist remarks her father made in 1984 about Aboriginal people, which led to the breakdown of a $15million sponsorship with Netball Australia.
The ABC confirmed it had notified police about the email which featured racist slurs including 'ab**' and 'bo***' with the author of the email also calling Armstrong 'scum' and a 'dog'.

The email came after Armstrong shared his thoughts on the controversy between Gina Rinehart and Netball Australia.
