Newly uncovered footage shows a man with a handgun standing feet from Migos member Takeoff moments before the rapper was killed in a hail of bullets.

The suspect is a person of interest in the shooting, which left the 28-year-old musician dead with a gunshot to the head.

The footage, obtained by TMZ, showed the armed man standing in a group with Takeoff and his cousin Quazos outside of a downtown Houston bowling alley early on Tuesday amidst a heated argument.

The crowd suddenly dispersed, and the man was seen drawing his weapon and firing at least ten times.

It is unclear whether or not the fatal bullet was fired by the man in the video. Cops say they are searching for two suspects and have a few leads.

Takeoff, whose off-stage name was Kirsnick Khari Ball, was attending a private party at the bowling alley before the shooting. Another man and a woman were also wounded in the gunfire, according to Houston police Chief Troy Finner.

The rapper formed one-third of the Grammy Award-nominated trio Migos with his uncle Quavo and cousin Offset.

In the wake of his bandmate's death, offset changed his social media profile picture to a shot of Takeoff.

At least 40 people were at the party when the two gunmen opened fire, Finner said during a briefing.

The chief said police do not believe that Takeoff was involved in criminal activity but said the shooting was not a random event.

Police have not offered a motive for the shooting other than saying there was an argument at the party.

'At least two people were pulling triggers,' Finner said. 'Take my word, we will find out who is responsible.'

Finner said Takeoff was 'well respected,' and there was 'no reason to believe he was involved in anything criminal at the time.'

Police are now asking people to come forward and give statements and videos to investigators on what they saw and heard, even if this is done anonymously, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner announced.

'Let me just ask ... that anyone who has information on the shooter or shooters to provide that information to HPD and let us solve this situation,' Turner said at a press conference on Tuesday. 'Let us bring justice to this family.

'We intend to solve this,' he added. 'Too many young black men are getting killed. Pray for the family.'

The other man and woman who were struck by gunfire had non-life-threatening wounds and went to hospitals in private vehicles.

Migos' record label, Quality Control, mourned Takeoff's death in a statement posted on Instagram.

'Senseless violence and a stray bullet has taken another life from this world and we are devastated,' the statement said, though police have said nothing about the gunshot being a stray. 'Please respect his family and friends as we all continue to process this monumental loss.'

The bowling alley is in a three-story Houston retail complex with high-end restaurants and a House of Blues and is near a Four Seasons hotel. Takeoff was pronounced dead at the scene of the 2:30 a.m. shooting. An Associated Press reporter observed a body loaded into a medical examiner's van around 10am, more than seven hours after the shooting.

Security guards in the area heard the shooting but did not see who did it, a police spokesperson said.

A spokesperson for 810 Billiards & Bowling said the shooting took place after the alley closed and said the business is cooperating with investigators.
