Wednesday 2 November 2022 08:19 PM Hampshire policeman 'squeezed female colleague's waist during Wetherspoons ... trends now
A 'predatory' English police officer 'sexually assaulted a female colleague in a Scottish Wetherspoons during the Cop26 climate conference', a trial was told.
The female officer said Rich Ennor stared incessantly at her during a booze session, rubbed his leg against hers under the table and passed his arm under her breasts.
The 46-year-old married woman said she only escaped Ennor's unwanted attention after mouthing 'help me' at another male colleague who led her to the toilet where she told him through tears what had been happening.
Even after that, she said, as she went to another part of the Wetherspoons pub in Livingston, West Lothian, to phone her husband, Ennor came up behind her and squeezed her waist before leaving the bar.
Ennor, 43, from Burton, near Christchurch in Dorset, denies behaving in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm by uttering suggestive and sexual remarks towards the other officer, who can't be named for legal reasons.
The charge states that he behaved in an aggressive and sexual manner towards her, repeatedly stared at her, leaned his body in towards her and sat 'in extremely close proximity' to her.
