Firebrand Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert told reporters on Thursday that she is confident that she'll win re-election even while separated from her Democratic rival by less than 1,000 votes.
Boebert's knife-edge race has caught election watchers by surprise. It's been one of the starkest examples of Democrats out-performing expectations across the country while Republicans' promised 'red wave' fizzled out.
But she told reporters that 'of course' she'll win - and ignored a question from DailyMail.com about whether she supports Donald Trump making a 'big announcement' on November 15 even despite an underwhelming GOP performance in her race and others.
Boebert also denied being caught off guard by the close race, instead suggesting that underwhelming Republican candidates further up the ticket in Colorado had dragged her down.
As of Thursday evening, Boebert is narrowly leading former Aspen City Council member Adam Frisch by just 0.2 percent with 98 percent of the vote counted.
That didn't stop her from returning to Washington, DC two days after Election Day where she participated in the House Freedom Caucus' COVID-19 pandemic accountability hearing.
