The family home of Mohammed Skaf has been permanently blurred on Google Street View after a request by the pack rapist before the house was peppered by bullets in a mystery shooting.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal the house, which was shot up on Sunday night by an unidentified gunman, has been completely obscured on Google since Skaf was released from Long Bay prison after serving almost 21 years for a series of gang rapes in 2000.

And Google has revealed that anyone can request to have their face, car registration plate or house obscured.

Police were called to the Skaf home on Valencia Street in Greenacre, around 17km southwest of Sydney's CBD,  just after 9pm after reports of bullets being fired at the home.

Now aged 39, Skaf is believed to be living in a granny flat behind the one-storey house.

He has been at the property since he was granted parole for rapes he committed as a 17-year-old in a gang led by his older brother, Bilal, who still remains in prison.

A NSW Police spokesperson said a vehicle had fled the street moments after the home was peppered with bullets, and it is believed Skaf's mother Baria was 'treated for the effects of shock'.

At the time of the rapes - in the weeks leading up to the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games - Mohammed and Bilal Skaf were living at a different family home in the same street.

Mohammed and the other Lebanese-Australian youths led by Bilal went on their rampage in Sydney's southwest targeting young Australian females of non-Lebanese origin.

At least six women and girls were held against their will and repeatedly sexually assaulted in four attacks that shocked Australia.

One woman was raped 25 times by 14 attackers at three locations as she was called an 'Aussie pig' and told she be raped 'Leb-style' in an ordeal that would last six hours.

Mohammed was convicted in relation to two of the rapes, and his brother Bilal, now aged 41, was sentenced to more than 30 years for orchestrating the attacks and won't be eligible for parole until February 2033.
