Officials within the Jackson County Central School District in Minnesota are investigating a video which allegedly shows a student being locked in a closet by a teacher.

The 55-second video posted to Reddit shows the moments in which other students attempt to let the child free as they cry out while the teacher tells them to stop.

At one point, a young child can be seen walking up to the doors of the closet and knocking to check on the student.

An off-camera person, purportedly the teacher, can be heard responding: 'No, no, no, no, no; uh huh.'

The incident reportedly happened in September at the Jackson County Central Middle School, according to the Jackson County Pilot.

After the teacher tells the child to stop, the young girl responds: 'I'm not even doing anything.'

She then backs away after being scolded by the educator.

After several seconds of silence and then snickering from other students, the child inside the closet can be heard knocking.

'He's stuck in the closet,' one person says of the student.

'Can I have help,' the child in the closet asks.

'The help you need is not going to be here,' shouts one person.

At one point, a student walked up to the door, seemingly to check on the student inside of the closet. The student was then yelled at by an off-camera person believed to be the teacher

It's unclear what led to the child being locked in the closet in the first place.

DailyMail.com reached out to Jackson County Central School District Superintendent Barry Schmidt Tuesday but did not receive a response by the time of publication.

In an article published by the Jackson County Pilot in October, Schmidt said the matter is under investigation by officials.

'The district is prevented by state and federal privacy laws from discussing the specific details of the incident, or the individuals who may have been involved,' Schmidt said in the statement.
