Ticketmaster has finally apologized to Taylor Swift and her fans after a catastrophic pre-sale this week for her Eras tour, citing bot attacks and massive demand for leaving fans in a virtual line for hours and others unable to purchase tickets at all.
The ticketing titan also canceled the general sale of tickets on Thursday and released a now deleted statement that did not include the new one-line apology, which forced a furious response from Swift herself.
She said she was 'assured' the company could handle the high demand for tickets and 'it really pisses me off that a lot of them feel like they went through several bear attacks to get them.'
This forced Ticketmaster to make the Friday apology, but they spent only a few words saying sorry and even commended the 'record sale' of tickets.
The Department of Justice also increased the pressure on the company and launched an antitrust investigation into the owner of Ticketmaster, Live Nation Entertainment.
'First, we want to apologize to Taylor and all of her fans – especially those who had a terrible experience trying to purchase tickets,' said the Ticketmaster statement released Friday night.

Ticketmaster gave many of the same reasons for the failure that they did in the previous statement.
'This time the staggering number of bot attacks as well as fans who didn’t have codes drove unprecedented traffic on our site, resulting in 3.5 billion total system requests – 4x our previous peak,' they said.
