Democratic Representative Adam Schiff said in an interview on Sunday morning that under Republican leadership the House of Representatives would be 'chaos'.
Schiff made the apocalyptic prediction when asked about his potential removal from the House Intelligence Committee, which he currently chairs, in an interview on ABC News's This Week.
Schiff is a high-profile Democratic lawmaker who made similarly cynical allegations regarding the collusion of Trump with Russia. Many of those allegations were substantiated by the Steele dossier, much of which has now been found to be false.
The House was narrowly won by the GOP after midterm elections earlier this month in which a 'red wave' was predicted, but Republican gains were slimmer than expected.
Schiff's position on the intelligence committee may now be precarious as GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy
