An extremely popular retail worker at an Australian Kmart store has been recognised with a $2,000 award for 'never failing to make customers smile' - and he gave the money to charity.
Travis Martin can be found on most days near the front of Cairns Central Kmart in North Queensland where he greets customers and helps out with their shopping.
The friendly giant was nominated on a shortlist by the shopping centre to recognise unsung heroes for International Men's Day and on Friday claimed the top spot after receiving a flood of votes - 3,000 ahead of the runner-up.
'Travis has become a well-known member of the community and is a customer service hero thanks to his bubbly energy and welcoming nature,' the centre said.
