Todd Chrisley boasted about spending $300,000-a-year on clothes for his family in a TV promotion for their reality show just two years after complaining to a bankruptcy court that he had only $100 in cash and nothing in his bank accounts.
The court papers were filed in a Georgia bankruptcy court in 2012 but gain new relevance today after the conviction and sentencing of Chrisley and his wife Julie for fraud.
He is facing 12 years behind bars and she has been ordered to serve seven years - harsh terms which they vow to appeal.
Prosecutors hinged their case on the fact that the pair presented a lavish lifestyle filled with hard-earned riches. They also used testimony from a man claiming to be Todd's scorned gay lover.
