A Washington, DC, woman is being branded a 'Karen' after video surfaced of her hurling racist insults at her black Uber driver Wednesday morning.
The expletive laden encounter was recorded by a passerby and has since gone viral - and ultimately led to the woman being banned from the ride-sharing app later that day.
Neither the driver nor the rider have been publicly identified. DC police, meanwhile, are looking into the incident, which saw the customer repeatedly slam the driver as a 'slave' and a 'n****r.'
In a statement Wednesday, Uber said that they were already 'in touch with the driver,' and confrimed that 'the rider's account has been banned from the app.'
A Twitter account covering community news in the D.C. area reshared the bystander's clip Wednesday, garnering national attention and more than 2million views in a matter of hours.
'I'm your fucking boss,' the woman can be heard saying at one point in the footage, in which she is seen shoving the driver. 'You're a little piece of shit, n****r.'

The footage, filmed from inside of a building that overlooked the encounter, begins with an SUV parked on the street below with its back passenger door open.
Just outside the vehicle, a man and woman can be seen arguing on the sidewalk. The woman's tone during the quarrel comes of as noticeably condescending and argumentative.
It is not immediately clear what spurred the argument, though barbs between the two would suggest the blowup stemmed from a request to use the driver's phone charger. The clip begins with the woman, who is white, complaining after apparently not getting her way.

'Your phone was not plugged in!' the woman shouts at first, after the driver apparently denied her request - potentially because he was charging his own phone.
The video then shows the driver backing away from the woman as she walks toward him.
'Get the f**k out of my face!' the man shouts , attempting to distance himself from the disgruntled customer.
The woman, however, continues to press forward, shouting inches from the man's face.
At this point, the encounter grows increasingly contentious. 'I employ you,' the woman shouts defiantly, 'I'm your boss.'
