Tucker Carlson has used his eponymous Fox News show to slam a group of liberal TV reporters whom he claims have been using their reports to 'blame right-wing media outlets' for 'radicalizing' the Colorado Springs gay bar shooter.

'This is a man who was radicalized by this show and by the Twitter account Libs of TikTok to hate transgendered people and that's why this man walked into a bar, a gay bar, with a gun, and started murdering people,' Carlson said, tongue firmly in cheek during Wednesday night's monologue.

He was able to gently mock because earlier in the day a requested emerged from the lawyers of 22-year-old Anderson Lee Aldrich to be referred to using they/them pronouns, because they are said to be non-binary.

CNN delivered the news to stunned silence before proceeding to report on the shootings and Aldrich's alleged involvement using male pronouns.

Carlson then illustrated how left-leaning media had been blaming the right for the tragedy that had occurred.

'It's a campaign being driven by members of Congress and conservative influencers on social media, as well as the right's most favorite TV network, Fox News,' said MSNBC political reporter Nicolle Wallace. 'You have anti-LGBTQ rhetoric spewed on the most watch hours on Fox News at a regular clip against the U.S. military, against gay men and women,' she continued.

It was a view echoed by MSNBC evening anchor Chris Hayes: 'These incidents happened within the context of conservative media personalities fear-mongering against queer folks,' he suggested.

Carlson suggested that NBC News was leading the charge against right-wing media with NBC reporter Ben Collins reporting how fear-mongering was spreading to the LGBTQ community evening including drag nights.

Club Q, where five people were killed in a shooting over the weekend, had been scheduled to host a drag brunch on Sunday, marking Transgender Day of Remembrance, which commemorates transgender people who lost their lives to anti-transgender violence.

'Am I doing something wrong here? Here are some headlines that I wrote over the last six months. "Fueled by internet's far right machine, anti-LGBTQ threats shut down trans rights and drag events." Remember, there was a drag event happening in Colorado,' Collins explained.
