A 4WD linked to a teen missing in the remote outback has been found six weeks after she vanished without a trace.

Tea Wright-Finger, 19, was dropped off by a friend at a 2013 blue Toyota Prado near Richmond 500km west of Townsville in Queensland on October 16 and hasn't been seen or heard from since.

An extensive land and air search in scrub and bushland spanning thousands of kilometres was launched before it was scaled back after nine days.

The Toyota Prado was reported stolen from Proserpine on October 14, two days before Ms Wright disappeared.

Police found the vehicle in remote bushland near Richmond on Wednesday.

Investigators are currently travelling to the scene.

Detectives recently ramped up when fresh CCTV was released in the hope it would jog the memory of any witnesses.

The footage showed Ms Wright-Finger wandering around a Richmond roadhouse on October 16 in the hours before she vanished.
