A body of a teenage girl has been found in the remote outback six weeks after she vanished without a trace. 

Tea Wright-Finger, 19, was dropped off by a friend at a 2013 blue Toyota Prado near Richmond 500km west of Townsville in Queensland on October 16

She hadn't been seen or heard from since, despite a massive air and land search spanning thousands of kilometres.

A helicopter found the vehicle in remote bushland near Richmond on Wednesday.

Search crews located the body of a woman believed to be Ms Wright-Finger in bushland 600 metres away from where the Toyota Prado was found on Thursday morning.

Preliminary information suggests the death is non-suspicious.

'Police have spoken to Tea’s family, and we extend our deep condolences to her family and loved ones,' a statement read.

'Investigators would like to thank the SES local property owners and the community for their assistance and information provided during the search for Tea'

It comes after dramatic footage of the moment police located a 4WD driven by a teen missing in the remote outback has been released by police, six weeks after she vanished without a trace.

Footage released by police shows officers landing a helicopter and approaching the car and then a gloved hand opening the passenger side's front door to reveal an open glove box with a pink container inside.

Finding the vehicle was the result of an extensive land and air search in scrub and bushland spanning thousands of kilometres, which had only recently been scaled back after nine days.

The Toyota Prado was reported stolen from Proserpine on October 14, two days before Ms Wright disappeared.

Police found the vehicle in remote bushland near Richmond on Wednesday.
