The headquarters of a notorious motorcycle gang has been taken over by police after the High Court ruled the cops could move in and take ownership.

The High Court of New Zealand on Wednesday ordered the forfeiture of the Head Hunters Motorcycle Club's Wigram property in Christchurch.

Police were allowed to seize the Vickerys Road property under the Criminal Proceeds Act with a hearing to solidify the forfeiture set for 2023.

Police also seized $6,162.30 in cash from unlicensed gaming machines as well as a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The gang's very obvious hatred for police was on display when cops seized the house on Wednesday.

In a pot plant outside the gang pad, a headless pig wearing a police hat can be seen.

Pigs is a derogatory term used to describe police, often by criminals.

The property was first restrained by New Zealand Police in 2017 after 'Operation Block' was carried out in 2016.

The operation was a major investigation which determined the gang's alleged involvement in organised crime and drug offences.

Police made this year's application on the accusation Christchurch-based members and associates of the Head Hunters were allegedly deeply involved in the sale and supply of methamphetamine.

The Christchurch members and associates are also said to have made significant improvements to the property since the gang bought it in 2016 off the now defunct Epitaph Riders gang.

The Head Hunters Motorcycle Club started as a street gang in the east Auckland suburb of Glen Innes in 1967.

It transitioned into a motorcycle club in 1970, and in 1996, the gang became an incorporated society.
