The View's usually liberal hosts have torn into Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after they dropped the trailer for their bombshell Netflix documentary in the middle of Prince William and Kate Middleton's tour of the US.

Joy Behar and Ana Navarro both laid into the couple during a roundtable chat over the Sussex's bombshell move this week.

Behar suggested the clip had been released deliberately to clash with the couple's trip to Boston while Navarro said she was 'sick of the sight' of them crying.

Behar - a longtime liberal who'd be expected to support the couple - also questioned Meghan's sensational claims that an unnamed royal had raised 'concerns' about what color her son Archie's skin would be before he was born.

Speaking after Sunny Hostin broached the subject, Behar said:  'Has anyone else actually proven to have been racist? It seems hearsay.'

Hostin repeated the sensational claim, made by Meghan during an interview with Oprah in 2021. But Behar remained skeptical, and said: 'And who did they think said that?'

Navaro was similarly antagonistic, saying about the trailer for the couple's upcoming show: 'I just wish that every time I saw Meghan and Harry they weren't crying and wiping away tears.'

The six-part series has been billed as an insight into the pair's life, love and struggles - and does not appear to have spared royal institutions from criticism.

But the timing of the teaser - which did not even mention a release date - sparked widespread condemnation for trying to overshadow William and Kate's visit.

'So, do you make anything of this release? Do you think it was deliberate?' Behar asked.

Co-host Sunny Hostin seemed to give the Sussex's some credit arguing they probably did not have control over when the trailer was going to air.

'I didn't realize they had that much power within Netflix, that they could say, 'We're gonna drop it now because my brother and his, you know, his wife are coming to the states,'' Hostin began.

'Don't you think Netflix made the decision rather than them?' Behar then suggested.

'Smart marketing!' stated host Alyssa Griffin, although Hostin continued to suggest that the couple would not have had enough influence to decide when the trailer would drop.

Navarro then took up the thread as she begged for the couple to stop with their tears, with Meghan apparently seen sobbing multiple times in the upcoming show.

'First of all, I think Netflix is great at marketing and I think Harry and Meghan are great at marketing themselves. They have done — they've now earned tens and tens of millions of dollars out of their story, which they have been telling, it seems to me, for years now, and they're very good at it,' Navarro stated.

Griffin quickly shifted the discussion onto alleged racism from members of the royal family

'I do think that, Princess, or Duchess at this point, Meghan told you exactly what was happening within the royal family. She told everybody that there was racism. She told everyone that she was the target of death threats and racism repeatedly, that the family refused to protect her.'

Griffin also brought up claims that made headlines earlier in the week that William's godmother 'is also a racist.'

The late queen's lady-in-waiting, Susan Hussey, has since resigned and apologized after a black guest at a reception hosted by the queen consort Camilla was left feeling traumatized and violated after she questioned her repeatedly about where she 'really came from'.

Buckingham Palace described the remarks as 'unacceptable and deeply regrettable'.

A spokesperson for the Prince of Wales said the comments were unacceptable and that racism has no place in our society'.

It led to the perfect segue to discuss allegation of racism within the royal household.

'There have been a lot of reports from Meghan and Harry themselves about the questioning of the color of what their baby's skin would be coming from someone in the royal family,' Hostin said.

Behar dismissed such allegations as 'hearsay' adding there was no proof.

Griffin then changed tack and noted how the new documentary saw the couple 'perpetuating putting themselves in the public eye, when that's what they were trying to avoid.'

Sarah Haines noted how the couple had long stated that they 'wanted privacy, like they were harassed. I do believe everything she said. They wanted protection.'

But Behar summed up the thought of what countless other viewers were likely thinking: 'Do we really care? We've been dealing with election deniers and anti-Semites!' she cited as subject which in her view were of far greater concern.

Nothing will be the same after Harry and Meghan's Netflix show – not least their relationship with the streaming giant… There's been as many bust-ups behind the scenes as there have with family members, says ALISON BOSHOFF

The publicity blurb describes it as 'unprecedented', and certainly all the indications are that the forthcoming six-part Harry & Meghan conflagration on Netflix will make the bombshells of that Oprah interview look like a little local difficulty.

Over six beautifully lit and shot and slickly edited hours, we will have Harry and Meghan speaking at length about the paradise they have found in California, and in each other.

Alongside that heart-warming love story will be a stark reckoning for those who are deemed to have been racist, and those whom Prince Harry believes endangered his wife, inside and outside the palace.

His family, who caused him to quit what he refers to snippily as 'my previous job', can expect a frank assessment of their failures in his eyes, too.

Netflix confirms that backing him up will be 'family and friends' who will talk about the impact of 'Megxit' and the run-up to it — and why they 'had' to go.

It's predicted that Meghan's mother, Doria, will be the one and only family member on camera, making her media debut.

Meghan, famously, is not on speaking terms with anyone else in her family — and it's hard to imagine that any of Harry's family will be tripping over themselves to take part.

There's speculation that British Vogue editor Edward Enninful will speak about her time in the UK.

There's talk, too, about a role for Meghan's long-time best pal Markus Anderson, who was there when their romance flourished and accorded a prime seat at the wedding. Yesterday, friends of Anderson said they would be surprised if the famously discreet Soho House executive had been lured into saying a word — but then, if he was
