Brittany Higgins is in a 'fragile' condition in a psychiatric clinic, her boyfriend says - as he slams her old boss Linda Reynolds, claiming she has 'leaked' information about a $3million lawsuit against her to the media.
Ms Higgins' legal team is preparing to launch civil court proceedings against the Commonwealth, Ms Reynolds, and former federal minister Michaelia Cash after an alleged sexual assault case she was a complainant in was abandoned.
Her lawyers have sent documents to all parties setting out an intention to sue for sexual harassment, sex discrimination, disability discrimination, negligence, and victimisation.
Ms Higgins, 28, had alleged Lehrmann, 27, sexually assaulted her inside Canberra's Parliament House in March 2019. He had pleaded not guilty and denied any sexual interaction with Ms Higgins.
The first case was dropped in October following a three-and-a-half-week trial because a member of the jury brought banned research material into the ACT Supreme Court.
A new trial was scheduled for February 20, but on Friday the ACT's public prosecutor Shane Drumgold announced he would drop the case altogether due to Ms Higgins' mental health.
The civil case, which will begin with mediation talks between the parties in Canberra on December 13, was revealed by the Sydney Morning Herald on Sunday afternoon.
Hours later, Ms Higgins' boyfriend David Sharaz unleashed a scathing Twitter spray at Ms Reynolds, slamming her as a 'bully' and accusing her of alerting the media to the civil matter without permission from the alleged victim or her lawyers.

Ms Higgins was working for Senator Reynolds at the time of the alleged incident, before she left to take a position with Senator Cash.
Both gave evidence during the trial in the ACT Supreme Court against alleged rapist Bruce Lehrmann in October.
Mr Sharaz tweeted: 'First Linda sent her husband in to watch a victim's cross-examination and was texting the defence team tips.'
'Now she's leaking privileged information to the paper while Britt's fragile in a clinic.'
