Brittany Higgins said she 'did my best' in a touching message to sexologist Chantelle Otten after she penned a heartfelt note to the former Liberal staffer while she recovers in hospital.
Ms Higgins is spending time in a mental health clinic after the sexual assault charge against Bruce Lehrmann was dropped by the ACT Director of Public Prosecutions last Friday.
The prosecution decided not to pursue the charge amid fears a second trial would negatively affect Ms Higgins' mental health.
In the wake of the retrial being abandoned, Ms Otten shared a lengthy Instagram post in support of Ms Higgins.
