Former National Security Advisor John Bolton on Monday threatened to jump in the 2024 presidential race if other Republicans don't step up and condemn former President Donald Trump's attack on the Constitution.
'I think to be a presidential candidate, you can't simply say I support the Constitution you have to say I would oppose people who would undercut it,' Bolton told NBC's Kristen Welker Monday on Meet the Press Now.
He said he would 'absolutely' jump in the presidential race if he didn't hear that message pushed from other GOP presidential candidates.
'I'd like to see Shermanesque statements from all the potential candidates. If I don't see that then I'm going to seriously consider getting in,' Bolton said.
When asked about what his timetable would look like, Bolton replied, 'I think it's going to have to be pretty short.'
