The Crumbl Cookies bakery chain has accused a former staffer of stealing its recipes and leaking it to his brother, who went on to found rival franchise Dirty Dough.

Known as the #UtahCookieWars, Crumbl filed new allegations against its rival, which it sued in May for allegedly stealing its cookie and packaging designs.

Crumbl, which owns more than 600 franchises in 47 states, has also claimed Bradley Maxwell, a former process engineer at their company, stole 66 recipes which he then allegedly provided to his brother, Bennett, founder of Dirty Dough.

Bennett, who has slammed the lawsuit and mocked it with various billboard ads across Salt Lake City, said his company is ready to hire an expert baker to testify about the difference between the sweets.

Although initially worried that his small startup was being sued by the giant Crumbl Cookies, Bennett said he was shocked by the claims made against him.

'I was like, 'Are you kidding me? They think they own the cookie with sprinkles,'' he told the Wall Street Journal.

Following its initial lawsuit filing, Crumbl said a former Dirty Dough employee informed them about the alleged stolen files, according to the latest court records.

'Crumbl's recipes are among its most prized assets and Crumbl carefully guards their secrecy to protect them from falling into competitors' hands,' a Crumbl lawyer said in the filing.

According to the lawsuit, Bradley worked at Crumbl's processing line from March 2019 to June 2019. The company claims Bradley used his position
