Photos taken from inside Twitter's San Francisco Headquarters reveal the bedrooms installed in the building that are currently under investigation by the city.

Chief Twit Elon Musk is currently under fire following allegations of makeshift motel rooms installed inside Twitter's headquarters after it lost more than half of its workforce since his $44 billion takeover.

New photos from people working inside the building show several of the bedrooms set up for Twitter employees, NBC reports.

Some of the rooms appear outfitted with a large bed, sheets, furniture, plants, and dual TV screens, while others have a more bare setup with just a bed mattress, a corner desk and a single TV.

One of the rooms also appeared to have a large closet and changing mirror installed.

The rooms are reportedly labeled, with names such as Dollarbird and Goldeneye, and operate on a reservation status.

Musk appears to have confirmed the existence of the rooms as he condemned San Francisco's mayor for opening an investigation - slamming her for not dealing with the drugs epidemic sweeping the city instead.

The cleaning crew protesting outside the Twitter building after their contracts were ended abruptly last Friday said they were shocked when the bedrooms were recently installed.

One of the former crew members told NBC that because the building was located in a commercial zoning area, it's not allowed to have bedrooms.

Martin Cerda, one of the protestors, added that he and other former members of the cleaning crew were being watched by security agents when they cleaned the altered offices.

'They were always behind you and you had to take out the trash, take everything off the bed and it was a lot of pressure having them there,' said Cerca.

In a statement about the allegation, the city's Department of Building Inspection said: 'We are reaching out to building representatives so we can conduct a site inspection as part of our investigation. If we find that suite 900 no longer meets the building code, we'll issue a notice of violation.'

Along with the pending investigations, many on social media slammed Musk for creating the makeshift bedrooms for his staffers.

Musk recently hit back at a tweet attacking him for 'providing beds for tired employees' at the San Francisco office.

The 44-year-old honed in on Mayor London Breed, who has been slammed for using taxpayer dollars to set up open-air drug markets as a way to tackle the drug crisis.

Earlier in the day, officials seemed to put the kibosh on the $22million largely failed experiment, closing down a prominent den in the Tenderloin District after a year.

Hours later, the city announced it was investigating a complaint Twitter staffers were sleeping in makeshift bedrooms at its San Francisco office, as new owner Musk looks to instill a 'hardcore' culture at the social media giant.

Musk in his tweet appeared to confirm the claims - while also taking a shot at the city by citing a recent report about a baby's near death this past week after ingesting fentanyl he found on the ground of a neighborhood playground.

'So city of SF attacks companies providing beds for tired employees instead of making sure kids are safe from fentanyl,' Musk wrote, shortly after the city's Department of Building Inspection said it was investigating a complaint about his company's rumored sleeping arrangements.

He went on to tag Breed specifically, asking the 48-year-old Democrat - who has failed to address rising crime and drug use in the city since assuming office in 2018 - 'Where are your priorities!?'

A spokesman for the department confirmed that the city was probing claims concerning Musk's so-called 'Twitter 2.0,' writing in an email Wednesday: 'We need to make sure the building is being used as intended.'

The rep would then explain that 'there are different building code requirements for residential buildings,' laid out to make sure citizens 'are using spaces safely.'

'No one is above the law,' the city staffer added.

Breed's office did not immediately respond to a DailyMail.com request for comment regarding the investigation.

Officials, meanwhile, said Wednesday that they are currently planning 'a site inspection' of the Twitter offices in the city's Civic Center neighborhood, 'as part of [the] investigation.'
