Twenty-five Arizona elementary school students started vomiting and falling ill after eating at a local bowling alley during a field trip on Tuesday.
Zuni Hills Elementary School officials said 25 sixth-graders reported being sick after returning to their Peoria campus following a visit to Uptown Alley, a bowling alley in nearby Surprise, Arizona Central reports.
The Peoria Unified School District said in a statement that while it remains unclear at this time what caused the students to vomit, medical professionals believed 'food poisoning' was the culprit.
The incident caused dozens of firefighters and first responders to flood the school as they closed off areas and helped treat the sick students.
Although no students were reported to be in critical condition, one was taken to the hospital at the request of the parents.
