Gayle King said it's become a 'very mess and very sloppy' at Good Morning America after news broke of co-hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes' affair.
The CBS Mornings co-host lamented the situation over her ABC counterparts, telling Andy Cohen on Thursday night that the whole thing is muddied.
'In the beginning I actually thought, good on Good Morning America. They're saying they're not taking them off the air. It's two consenting adults,' Gayle said of the initial calm before the storm.
'But then the more you read, it's just very messy,' she said, referencing the fact that Robach and Holmes were married to other people at the time of their affair and that this was not the first time Holmes reportedly cheated on his wife.
'I think, to me, it's just a sad situation because you've got kids involved, you've got families involved, and I keep thinking about that. I'm very concerned about that.'
ABC bosses have yet to make a final decision over the couple's future, but neither Holmes nor Robach have been on the screen since Monday and a source has told DailyMail.com that there are no plans for them to return to their seats at GMA3 this week.
Eight days after DailyMail.com broke the story of the affair, Robach said, 'It's kind of over now.'

Robach made her comment as she walked her goldendoodle, Brody, in Manhattan, just three days after she and her lover Holmes, 45, were 'indefinitely' suspended from the show they once fronted.
Casually dressed in a jean jacket, white shirt, and high-waisted khaki pants, she spoke through gritted teeth and it was unclear whether Robach, 49, was expressing frustration at the ongoing furor, or referring to the relationship that sparked it all in the first place.
Gayle is not the first morning show host to comment on the situation, with CNN's Don Lemon recently expressing his support for the pair saying that viewers should not judge them until all the facts are known.
He said he hoped to see them reinstated and he hoped to 'give them a hug' if he saw them.
Executives at the network, which is owned by Disney, are working to find a solution after it was revealed that Holmes' affair with Robach, which left his twelve-year-long marriage to attorney Marilee Fiebig, 44, in tatters, was not his first indiscretion.
In fact, he had a three-year-long affair with one of the show's producers between 2016 and 2019, a woman who happened to be one of Robach's best friends.
