The heartbroken daughter of a woman killed in a fiery crash has recalled her mum's final voicemail message as police wait to speak to an NRL star's mother over the devastating smash.

Uiatu 'Joan' Taufua, 46, the mum of Brisbane Broncos star Payne Haas, remains in hospital with multiple fractures, internal injuries and bruised lungs after a horrific two-car collision in Bonogin on the Gold Coast hinterland on Friday.

Susan Zimmer, 70, her partner Chris Fawcett, 79, and Ms Zimmer's daughter Stephanie, 35, died in the fiery crash while sole survivor Taufua had to be dragged from a black Mercedes wagon before she was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

As CCTV emerged of the black Mercedes wagon allegedly speeding moments before the tragedy, Ms Zimmer's surviving daughter spoke of her heartbreak while visiting the crash site.

Claudine Snow broke down in tears as she recalled her last conversation with her mum, whom she described as her best friend.

'I just dropped to my knees,' she said.

'I knew it was about mum. (The person on the phone) said, "They're all gone".'

She recalled how her 'incredible' sister could 'light up the room' and 'make anyone laugh' and said her stepfather Dr Fawcett, a former skin cancer specialist had 'saved so many lives'.

Ms Snow said her life would never be the same again and doesn't know how she will recover the heartbreaking loss as she issued a harrowing plea to drivers.

'My mother, my stepdad, my only sibling - my sister - have been taken from me,' she said.

'This shouldn't have happened.
