A man who bludgeoned his partner to death as she slept in her bed was jailed for life yesterday with a minimum of 20 years behind bars.

Colin Milburn, 52, had been found guilty by a jury of killing Buddug Jones, 48, at her home in Rhydwyn, near Holyhead in Anglesey, in April last year.

Judge Rhys Rowlands said at Caernarfon Crown Court the pair had been together for more than 30 years but Milburn had been consumed 'by false accusations of infidelity on her part.'

He said that the weapon was probably a hammer and after murdering her he drove to his job at Llangefni then returned to the house and reported the killing.
