A senior Queensland cop has been stood down and is at danger of losing his job forever after he let a random partygoer spray himself in the face with his police-issued pepper spray.
Queensland Police confirmed on Thursday the senior constable, who works at a station on the Gold Coast, was stood down on January 13 after an investigation into the December incident.
The footage, which showed the police officer attending a pool party and handing his pepper spray to the man, went viral on December 28 after being posted on Facebook.
The video showed the officer not interfering as the man sprayed the police-issued pepper spray, also known as OC spray, directly into his eyes, doubling over in pain.
