Jill Biden was seen in public on Monday for the first time since her Mohs surgery, sporting sunglasses to cover her eyes after having lesions removed from each lid.

White House Dr. Kevin O'Connor said last week the first lady was cancer free but still experiencing 'mild bruising and swelling' after the procedure.

She and President Joe Biden walked hand-in-hand to the White House on Monday morning after spending the weekend at their beach house in Rehoboth, Delaware.  President Biden ignored shouted questions on the classified document crisis engulfing his administration.

The president did, however, make a surprise cameo appearance on NBC's Saturday Night Live this weekend.

Biden popped up in actress Aubrey Plaza's opening monologue in the late-night comedy show, celebrating the White Lotus star's Delaware roots.

'I was actually voted the most famous person from Delaware. I beat Joe Biden. That's a fact,' Plaza said in her opening remarks.

'And he was pissed. He was livid. Look at this video he sent me,' she added.

The screen then cut to a video message from Biden where he said: 'Aubrey, you're the most famous person out of Delaware and there's no question about that. We're just grateful you made it out of White Lotus alive.'

The president's classified documents scandal took a new turn over the weekend when Biden's personal attorney announced six more documents had been found at Biden's Wilmington home after the Justice Department spent all of Friday searching the property.

Even some Democrats are now questioning the administration's handling of the scandal. Originally Biden and his team waited two months to concede he had classified material in his possession that dated back to his time as vice president and only admitted it after CBS News reported the news.

Since then, the administration has announced more documents have been found but has struggled to explain the delay in publicly announcing each discovery. Administration officials stress that the National Archives and Justice Department were informed promptly and argue they were following federal procedure.

The White House also has stressed that Biden's team has cooperated voluntarily with law enforcement to allowed access to documents Biden's lawyers have discovered, and have tried to contrast it with Donald Trump's months long resistance to requests from the National Archives, in a clash that led to an FBI search under a subpoena.

Biden also didn't address questions on whether his Rehoboth property will be searched by federal agents. His personal attorney searched it and said no classified material was at the beach house. The president is scheduled to go to Camp David this coming weekend.
