A shopper who died after a disturbance at a high-end watch shop died from heart disease and being restrained, an inquest heard today.

'Gentle giant' rugby player Samuel Diatta collapsed outside luxury jewellery store Mappin & Webb in York.

The 39-year-old was allegedly restrained by members of the public during the incident on a Tuesday afternoon last July.

He was rushed to hospital but later died. Three men, two aged in their 40s and one aged in his 50s, were arrested and bailed.

Samuel Diatta's family said: 'Sam was a wonderful member of our family who will be greatly missed by us, his friends and family around the world. Sam was half Senegalese and his family in Senegal meant the world to him'
