Perth bikie Samuel Willmott looking for pen pals while serving time in Bunbury ... trends now A tattooed baby-faced Rebels bikie is looking for new pals to write letters to overcome boredom and keep himself busy while behind bars. Samuel John Willmott, 23, has spent the last 13 months in jail after he was sentenced over the theft of $500,000 cash from a Perth backyard in a revenge plot against his friend's father. A recent photo of Willmott dressed in prison greens at Bunbury Regional Prison 175km south of Perth showing off some of his distinctive tattoos and rat's tail emerged on the 'Australian Inmates Looking for Penpals' Facebook page last week. The private group boasts 8,500 members and is for 'blokes and chicks looking for a pen pal with someone behind bars in Australia.' Friends and family post in the group on behalf of inmates seeking someone to write to and maintain some contact with the outside world. Samuel Willmott (pictured with a friend) was jailed shortly after this 2021 photo emerged of him flaunting his tattoos 'For my good brother, Samual (sic) Willmott,' a January 13 post reads. 'He's currently serving time at Bunbury regional med security prison (sic). 'All letters are welcomed, he just wants to past (sic) time, he's friendly. No crimes against women or children.' Several women appeared keen to accept Willmott's offer for pen pals, The West Australian reported. 'I will lovely', one woman commented before adding pink love heart emojis. Inmates who appear on the Facebook page must be incarcerated in Australia, single and 'absolutely no crimes against women or children,' according to group rules. A recent photo of the Rebels bikie dressed in prison greens emerged on a Facebook page in his quest to find pen pals to pass the time behind bars Convicted killers Daniel Zwerus and Daniel Marchesano have previously appeared on the page looking for pen pals, as has alleged bikie associate Adam Iustini. Willmott first gained notoriety in late 2020 when the home where he lived with his parents was raided by police in the wake of the gangland assassination of Nick Martin at drag racing meet. Shortly before he was jailed a year later, the young bikie showed off his new head and face tattoos while posing with a friend for a photo. He has 'Rebels MC' along his left arm, '1 per cent' ink under his left knee and on his leg, the letters 'FTP' — which usually stands for 'f... the police'. He also had '500K' tattooed on his face shortly before he was sentenced over the theft of $500,000 buried in a backyard in a revenge plot against his friend's father in 2018. Willmott, aged 18 at the time, went on a spending spree with the stolen life savings, splurging on jewellery, cars, ute, dirt bikes, jet skis, a boat and luxurious stay at Crown Perth. Samuel John Willmott (pictured left) could be eligible for parole within months Willmott planned to continue his links with the Rebels when he was released from jail, according to a pre-sentence report. Sentencing judge Linda Petrusa said Willmott had shown 'no genuine remorse'. 'This is not just a case of helping out a friend. You then both used the money to buy luxury items,' she said. 'The spending was all for greed; not need. You continued to spend money until you were caught by police. This offending is very serious.' Willmott was jailed for two years and 10 months but could be able to apply for parole within months after the halfway mark of his sentence. Once he's released from prison, Willmott must cover up his bikie tattoos in public under tough Western Australian laws. Up to 12 months jail and a $12,000 fine applies to bikie members who break the law.
