A commanding 84 percent of Americans agree with Attorney General Merrick Garland's appointment of a special counsel to probe President Joe Biden's classified documents scandal – and 67 percent feel the whole ordeal is a 'serious problem.'
Opinions on the further investigation into Biden are pretty consistent across political and party affiliations, according to a new CNN/SSRS poll released Wednesday.
Only 16 percent of respondents overall say they disapprove of the appointment of a special counsel to investigate the president's mishandling of classified information during and following his time as former President Barack Obama's vice president.
Eighty percent of Democrats approve of the appointment, while 88 percent of Republicans feel the same - and in the middle of the two sits independent voters, who have an 84 percent approval of the move.
