Counter-terror police have charged a man with a string of offences after a 'suspicious package' was found at a Leeds hospital, sparking a patient evacuation. 

Mohammad Farooq, 27, of Roundhay, Leeds, has been charged with a series of terrorism, explosives and firearm offences in connection with an incident at St James's Hospital in Leeds last week.

Patients and staff were evacuated from some parts of the building following the discovery of a suspicious package outside the Gledhow Wing, which houses the majority of the maternity services including the delivery suite.
