A Jamaican man has been charged with the murder of his older brother, a British citizen who was shot dead while visiting the island for his mother's funeral.

Carpenter Lemone Brown, 38, from Mike Town, in Jamaica's Manchester parish, is accused of shooting his brother Michael Brown, 48, from Waterford in Hertfordshire, The Mirror reports. 

A police spokesman confirmed that a man had been arrested and charged with his brother's murder and and is due to appear in court.

Michael Brown died just four days after he and his brother buried their mother.
