Families are using technology to earn an extra £1,000 a year to help boost their income during the cost-of-living crisis.

Research conducted by mobile network provider EE has revealed the average household generates £910 a year through apps and technology to earn extra cash.

Half of UK households said they have used innovative ways to help them with the rising cost of living, with the most popular being reviewing TV shows and doing market research, which is done by more than ten per cent of respondents.
