This is the moment a truck full of fireworks explodes in front of a terrified crowd after they were accidentally set off - resulting in a £7,670 fine for the organiser.

Up to 2,000 people were watching Craig Robinson's display when a stray rocket veered towards an open back truck filled with pyrotechnics.

It pierced a flimsy plastic cover protecting the mass of fireworks and set them all alight at the same time.

Video of the moment flames were sent shooting up into the night sky while fireworks launched in every direction from the back of the vehicle was shown in court.

There was widespread 'fear' in the crowd as some shocked spectators shielded their children from the danger while others sheltered under chairs.

The accidental blaze lasted for three minutes before organisers extinguished it.

In the footage immediately afterwards the commentator can be heard saying: 'Not quite as we had planned.'

The incident happened at the Ringwood Raceway site at Matchams, Dorset, on November 6, 2021.

Robinson, the sole director of Ringwood Raceway, pleaded guilty to the charge of being the storer of explosives and failing to take appropriate measures to prevent explosions at Poole Magistrates' Court.
