CCTV has caught the horrifying moment two men smashed a family's car as it was parked in their driveway - after a string of intimidating other attacks on their home.

The footage from the Rayfield family's home at Bargara near Bundaberg in Queensland, shows the two men dressed in black with their faces covered as they approached the home while yelling before laying into the car.

One of the men used a baseball bat and the other a fire pick in the violent attack on the car, denting panels and smashing windscreens before quickly running away.

The family were sitting in their loungeroom when they heard the commotion outside.
