It was a roast. It was a funny joke,' he said Thursday, though added that he didn't believe Trump would win the 2024 GOP nomination

New Hampshire's Republican Gov. Chris Sununu said he'd still vote for former President Donald Trump even after calling him 'f***ing crazy.' 

Speaking to CNN's Alisyn Camerota on Thursday, Sununu replied 'yes, absolutely,' when asked if he'd support the Republican nominee in 2024, even if that meant backing the former president.

'I'm a Republican, I'm gonna support the Republican nominee because I can guarantee that they're better than any of the Democrats that would likely sit in that presidential seat,' Sununu replied. 

The moderate governor, who's flirted with jumping in the 2024 race himself, spoke at the white tie Gridiron dinner in Washington in April and turned Trump into a punchline.
