Lisa Marie Presley 'couldn't handle the stress' of appearing at Golden Globes ... trends now
Lisa Marie Presley was struggling to cope with the pressure of appearing at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards where Austin Butler picked up the Best Actor in a Drama prize for portraying her father in Elvis.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Presley was more comfortable, wearing a mask, and avoiding people, including the paparazzi, reports TMZ. However, not long into the pandemic, Presley's world was devastated when her son Benjamin took his own life in July 2020.
The report goes on to say that in the wake of her son's death, Presley rarely left her home and when she did, would always wear a mask. Following the success of the movie, Elvis, the article said, that she was 'freaked' out by the prospect of being back in the media spotlight.
Presley, the only child of Elvis Presley, died at a California hospital at age 54 on Jan. 12 after paramedics answered a 911 call reporting a woman in cardiac arrest. She was laid to rest on January 22 at Graceland.

After Presley realized that she would be expected to appear at awards ceremonies and other events, she became 'obsessed' with losing weight, apparently shedding somewhere between 40 to 50 pounds in just six weeks.
While 'sources' told TMZ that Presley had started using opioids again. She was believed to have been sober in recent years, but following her son's death her ex-husband Michael Lockwood said he feared she could relapse.
As a teenager, she rebelled with drugs from the age of 13 to 17, but her mother put her into The Castle, a Scientology center in Hollywood, to get her off drugs.
'I did everything but mushrooms and heroin or crack,' she said.
'Cocaine, sedatives, pot, and drinking — all at the same time... I don't know how I lived through it.
'I woke up one day with a bunch of people on the floor. I drove myself to the Church of Scientology and said: 'Somebody... help me right now.'
For a time it worked, and Lisa Marie said she was drug-free from the age of 17.
At the awards show just days before her sudden death, Presley was seen slurring her words and appeared unsteady on her feet on the red carpet.
