New York City Mayor Eric Adams spent the coldest night of the year in New York City at a migrant shelter in an attempt to prove the facilities are good enough for those who have refused to move there.

Adams, 62, has been trying to convince the migrants to shift to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal after they've been locked out of various Big Apple hotels, with many activists saying the move is not an adequate fix.

The facility is meant for about 1,000 single male migrants, who have been ferried across the city from a tent shelter on Randall's Island to various hotels, will head to the terminal starting Monday morning from the Watson Hotel in Midtown.

It came as the temperature hit a low of 12 degrees in Brooklyn Saturday night, with temperatures having dipped into the single digits earlier that day.

The mayor tweeted: 'Spent the coldest night of the year at Brooklyn Cruise Terminal with 'Homeless Hero' and advocate Shams DaBaron & @AMEddieGibbs. Our brothers are being kept warm and the team working here is giving new meaning to the words 'love thy neighbor.

The Democrat - who has bragged of himself as the 'Biden of Brooklyn' despite criticizing the president's inaction on the immigration crisis - posted photos of himself sleeping, dining and playing video games with migrants.

With rumors that he's plotting out an eventual presidential run, Adams wanted to show how welcoming the facility could be.

'What we saw is what we have seen since the beginning of this crisis, individuals who are grateful to the greatest city in the world for providing them the opportunity to work toward the American Dream,' he said.

'I'd like to be clear that the facilities at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal are providing the same services to asylum seekers as every other humanitarian relief center in the city, and the team at the terminal is giving new meaning to the words 'love thy neighbor.'

A week ago, DailyMail.com cameras saw only a small number of the migrants choose to get on the buses, with three departing the hotel carrying a total of about 15-20 people.

That hotel is planning to then replace the single male migrants with families that are currently lodging at The Row in Hell's Kitchen.

This will not be a permanent home, as the city has promised to close the facility in time for cruise season to begin in spring.

In New York City, a code blue alert issued by the mayor earlier that day meant nobody would be denied shelter at the city's facilities.

Temperatures in the Big Apple were as low as five degrees on Saturday morning after a mild winter.

Adams has been bullish on asking for federal help, which included a rally outside City Hall Sunday.

Washington has approved $800million in spending to aid the crisis but it will go to various cities across the country.

Even if it were all going to New York, the city will still spend more money on its own to help the migrants, according to ABC7

However, Adams bragged Sunday that the migrants will live in better conditions than in other cities.
