Australia's federal communications minister enjoyed an $8,960 dinner at a luxurious Sydney restaurant - with gambling company Sportsbet picking up the bill.
Michelle Rowland, who oversees the Interactive Gambling Act, received $19,000 in donations from the betting agency ahead of the Federal Election last year.
Sportsbet donated nearly $9,000 for a dinner supporting Ms Rowland's election campaign at Sydney's Rockpool Bar & Grill in March.
Her campaign then received another $10,000 from the betting company on May 19, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
At the time of the donations, Ms Rowland was the shadow minister for communications and if Labor was to win the election, she would've been elevated to have responsibility over the Interactive Gambling Act and the Australian Communications and Media Authority.
