The AFP and ABF are investigating after suspicious packages were found onboard the vessel 'The AFP and Western Australia Police Force worked together last night (February 8) to recover a vessel off the coast of Peaceful Bay in WA's Great Southern,' an AFP spokesperson said. 'AFP can confirm it is investigating the discovery of suspicious packages found on the vessel.' The vessel was recovered offshore on Western Australia's south coast by a marine rescue group seven days after it capsized and took on water during rough seas. It was initially located by a commercial abalone diver 90km west of where it overturned on February 1. Only the hull was left poking out of the water when it was spotted floating in the waters off Boat Harbour, between Denmark and Walpole. Three men were rescued off the coast of Albany in WA on February 1 after their boat capsized and left them clinging to an esky (pictured) The three men onboard alerted emergency services with an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) at about 10:30am and they used life jackets and an esky to stay afloat. They were rescued and safely brought back to Emu Point at about 12:40pm with one of the men being taken to the hospital to be treated for hypothermia. The trio had just acquired the boat second-hand in Perth and set off fishing in areas the boat's previous owner had tagged.
