Shark Tank star Kevin O'Leary says AOC is 'great at killing jobs' trends now

Shark Tank star Kevin O'Leary has accused Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of 'killing jobs by the thousands' and said Democrat-led states like New York, California and Massachusetts are 'uninvestable'.

The Canadian investor, 68, tore into 'punitive' regulation across the three states that he claims deter businesses.

He singled out left-wing firebrand AOC for criticism and pointed to her successful efforts to prevent Amazon opening a major office in New York City in 2019.

'I don't put companies here in New York anymore - or in Massachusetts, or in New Jersey or in California. Those states are uninvestable,' O'Leary told CNN This Morning on Friday.

'The policy here [in NY] insane, the taxes are too high.'

O'Leary, whose net worth is estimated at $400 million, said New York Representative AOC 'threatened to sue [Amazon] if they created jobs. This is a reality.'

He was referring to her opposition to a second Amazon HQ in New York City that was supposed to be built with help from $2.8 billion in tax breaks.

AOC described Amazon's decision to pull out of the plan in 2019, amid fierce Democrat opposition, as 'incredible'. But supporters of the complex claimed it would have generated up to 40,000 jobs which justified the tax breaks.

O'Leary said he chooses to put businesses in cities like Fargo, North Dakota, which offers tax incentives, payments in lieu of taxes, and tax credits.

He added that he's called out Elizabeth Warren, the senator for Massachusetts, and told her 'we've got to move the companies out of your state because you're not investable anymore. You're punishing people if they're successful, you overtax them, you hit them with a supertax.'
