Shocking footage has captured the moment a taxi driver pushed a passenger to the ground after confronting her over an unpaid fare.
It's alleged the woman had hitched a ride in a taxi before she was dropped off at Rhodes, in Sydney's inner west, with the fare reported to be around $80.
She began to leave when the driver stopped her on the footpath and demanded she pay the fare.
Stunned locals gathered around the pair, with one recording the incident as it escalated, while the taxi driver attempted to drag the woman back into the vehicle.
'Don't touch me. It's assault!' the woman screamed.
She slaps the driver in the face prompting him to turn to the crowd.
