An elderly man has been left in a critical condition after being found lying unconscious on a street after a suspected hit and run.
Emergency services were called to Boronia Avenue in Epping, in Sydney's north-west, at around 7:45pm on Monday after a resident investigated a loud noise and found the unconscious 78-year-old man.
He was airlifted to the Royal North Shore hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition after suffering suffering severe head and internal injuries.
No vehicle was seen to have stopped in the area as investigations reveal a light-blue sedan was driving along the road around the same time.
