The man who found the body of a missing Georgia dad wrapped in plastic and carpet in a vacant lot revealed the horrific discovery.

Nathan Millard, 42, was found on Monday by an unidentified man after he disappeared while on a business trip to Baton Rouge, Louisiana on February 23.

In an interview with Unfiltered with Kiran, the man recalled the 'stench' that brought him to the 2900 block of Scenic Hwy at 3:34 a.m. - about three miles from the Irish pub Millard was last seen at 11.30pm.

'It smelled like something was bad or something was rotting,' the man told UWK. 'At first, I thought it was a dead animal, but I didn’t see anything.'

Millard, a father of five, was in the area to scout out a job site for the construction company he worked for when he went missing. His cause of death is unknown.

The man who discovered Millard was driving north of Baton Rouge when he decided to stop and check out where the smell was coming from.

When the man came near the abandoned lot with car ports, he got out with a flashlight to take a closer look. That is when he saw the rug behind a carport, he told UWK.

'At first I thought it was someone throwing out food, and then I saw the feet,' he recalled. 'That’s when I got really scared and my stomach was just turning in knots.'

Millard's remains were discovered rolled up in carpet, covered in plastic, it was reported. Authorities said they were only able to identify his decomposed body through his fingertips.
