'I think I should tell the court that the firearm in this case, that's a great subject of it, was destroyed by the state,' Spiro said. 'So that's obviously an issue.' Spiro added that he'd like to be able to take a look at 'what's left of' the firearm, if there is anything. The October 2021 incident occurred in a church building at the Bonanza Creek Ranch near Santa Fe, New Mexico when Baldwin's gun fired, with the bullet killing Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.
