A father-of-two has been charged with murdering his mother after she was found dead in her backyard.
Neighbours of Margz Smetheram, 56, called police after hearing a disturbance at her home about 12.50pm on Thursday.
Her body was found at the house on Winter Road in the northern Brisbane suburb of Kallangur soon after, and paramedics could not revive her.
Her son Leonard James Llewellyn Smetheram, 36, was charged with murder on Thursday night and will face court on Friday.
