The 30-year-old was charged with disorderly conduct after he allegedly became abusive onboard Jetstar flight JQ977 from Perth to Melbourne on Saturday. It's understood the man had sat next to another passenger he was travelling with, and and, when asked to take his assigned seat before take-off, staff allege he became abusive. Australian Federal Police officers were called in as the situation escalated to remove the man from the flight. A 30-year-old man was tasered and arrested after he allegedly refused to move to his assigned seat on a Jetstar flight (pictured, Australian Federal Police officers arresting the man) It's understood the man sat next to another passenger he was travelling from Perth to Melbourne with and became abusive when he was asked to move to his assigned seat Police allege the man assaulted an officer and had to be restrained during the arrest. 'Police were required to deploy a taser in order to restrain and arrest the man,' AFP said in a statement. 'Three AFP officers sustained minor injuries that were later treated.' The 30-year-old man has been handed a no-fly order until the matter is resolved. The second passenger travelling with the man was also escorted off the plane but was not arrested. Jetstar thanked the other passengers onboard for their patience during the man's arrest. The man was charged with disorderly conduct and handed a no-fly order until the matter is resolved (pictured, the man's arrest on Saturday) 'The safety of our customers and crew is our number one priority and while the vast majority of our customers behave well, we have zero tolerance for those who don't,' a spokesperson said. 'Our crew called the AFP for assistance when a customer (allegedly) became verbally and physically abusive after he repeatedly refused to follow their instructions to move to his assigned seat. 'After checking on the welfare of the remaining customers and crew onboard, the flight departed Perth approximately one hour after its scheduled departure time. 'We thank passengers for their patience as our crew worked with the AFP to manage the situation.' The man will face court on Monday.
